Flashbacks
One of the core elements of this larp is flashbacks to the character's younger selves. These will diegetically (in the fiction) be explained as the bands 'going to rehearse': rather than actual rehearsing, the flashback will be played out. It will be used to frame the tone of the next several hours (eg. conflict, hedonism, love, reconciliation). The exact nature of the flashback scenes will be dependent on the characters that you create. Each will involve the whole band, and their interactions with each other; and will be timetabled into the larp.
You can find more details about rehearsal scenes, and how they work, here.

Blackbox
We will have a room you can choose to use if you want to play out something that isn't contained in the narrative of the larp (eg. scenes of two characters meeting up secretly while the group was in hiatus; or a scene of one of the characters' younger selves screaming at their adoring fans). You might use this to explore some aspect of your character and their interactions; or to shed light upon some part of the backstory; or for any other reason. The organizers will be able to help you with ideas and with constructing blackbox scenes.

Sex, intimacy and nudity
We are interested in how sex and intimacy drive the narrative of the larp, as they form a part of the story for most of the characters. Our default is that for sex acts, the players should 'fade to black' and together narrate what happens between their characters – rather than playing it out.
Our default kissing technique is: one of the players puts a finger on their lips, leans in, and simulates kissing the other, keeping the finger inbetween them.
However, other techniques can be negotiated between participants as preferred. The important thing is that you will calibrate your boundaries and levels of comfort.
Non-sexual nudity will be allowed within the house, but not outside.

Safety
We will be using metatechniques to allow players to calibrate during play and to leave scenes without comment. We will be practising those during the workshops.
We consider player comfort to be more important than the larp.
